Speaking about Sony's recent announcement that it will move to a digital-only format starting in 2028, Leigh predicted the decision will not sit well with dedicated players.

Leigh argues that physical media offers more than just a nostalgic feeling. It gives gamers true ownership of their purchases, allowing them to play, trade, or sell titles without depending on a company's server staying online. He pointed out that digital storefronts can shut down, licenses can expire, and games can be removed from libraries without warning. In contrast, a disc or cartridge in your hand is yours to keep.

The YouTuber urged collectors and casual players alike to buy physical copies of games while they are still available. He warned that once the industry fully commits to digital, the market for used and retro games could become even more expensive and harder to access. Leigh also highlighted the importance of preserving game history, noting that physical copies often contain unique patches, manuals, and artwork that digital versions lack.

While Sony has not officially confirmed the 2028 date, the trend is clear. Leigh's message is simple: do not let convenience erase the right to own what you buy.
