Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok is not a sequel, but it is a much bigger and beefier version of the 2024 action RPG. This expansion, or upgraded edition, strips away most of the story and exploration to focus on one thing: tons of tougher battles. If you wanted the original game to just be a non-stop boss rush, this is your reward.
The core loop is simple. You pick a crew of four characters from the massive roster, upgrade their gear to the highest levels, and then jump into a series of increasingly difficult quests. The new "Endless" mode throws wave after wave of enemies at you, culminating in fights against supercharged versions of the game's biggest monsters. The "Ragnarok" part adds a new tier of difficulty that demands perfect timing and team coordination. One mistake can wipe your party.
The combat still feels fantastic. Each character has a unique playstyle, and the new abilities added here give veterans more tools to master. The visual spectacle is dialed up to eleven, with screen-filling attacks and explosions that never get old. However, this is not a game for solo players or those looking for a new story. The narrative is thin, serving only as a brief setup for the fighting. If you just want to grind for the best loot and test your skills against the hardest challenges the game can throw at you, Endless Ragnarok delivers exactly that. It is a focused, challenging, and rewarding endgame package.
