007 First Light: Main cast and cameos list

The upcoming James Bond film "007: First Light" has unveiled its full main cast, along with a handful of unexpected cameos that have fans buzzing. The movie, which marks a new chapter for the franchise, features a blend of established stars and fresh faces in key roles.

At the center is actor Tom Hardy taking on the mantle of James Bond, stepping into the iconic role with a gritty, grounded performance. Hardy, known for his work in "Mad Max: Fury Road" and "Venom," brings a physical intensity to the character. Opposite him, Lupita Nyong'o plays the lead Bond girl, Dr. Amara Kente, a brilliant scientist caught in a global conspiracy. Nyong'o, an Oscar winner for "12 Years a Slave," recently starred in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

The villain is played by Cillian Murphy, who portrays a rogue MI6 agent turned cyber-terrorist. Murphy, widely recognized for his role in "Peaky Blinders" and "Oppenheimer," adds a chilling calm to the antagonist. Supporting roles include Idris Elba as M, taking over the position of head of MI6, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Moneypenny, bringing her signature wit to the role. Waller-Bridge, the creator of "Fleabag," also contributed to the script.

As for cameos, the film includes a surprise appearance by Daniel Craig in a flashback sequence, linking this new Bond to the previous timeline. Dame Judi Dench makes a brief voice-only cameo as a retired M, and musician Harry Styles appears as a casino dealer in a tense poker scene. The film is set for release in late 2025.
