The Legend of Zelda™: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo has officially announced that "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. The game, widely considered one of the greatest video games ever made, will be available for purchase on the new console. This marks the first time the title has been released on a Nintendo home console that is not part of the Virtual Console service or a dedicated remake.

Originally launched for the Nintendo 64 in 1998, Ocarina of Time set the standard for 3D action-adventure games. Players control the hero Link as he travels through time to stop the evil Ganondorf from obtaining the Triforce. The game introduced features like Z-targeting, a day-and-night cycle, and a deep musical system where Link plays songs on the ocarina to solve puzzles and warp across the land of Hyrule.

The Switch 2 version is expected to run at a higher resolution and smoother frame rate than the original. While details on specific enhancements are still limited, fans are hoping for improved textures and faster loading times. The game will be available both as a digital download and as a physical cartridge.

For those who missed it the first time, or who want to relive the adventure, this is a chance to experience a piece of gaming history on modern hardware. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2 is now available for pre-order directly from Nintendo.
